Safeguard Inspections in 2025

Hey guys, going back to Safeguard for inspections. I did inspections for a contractor back in 2015-2016. It was pretty **** but flexibility was nice, it was easy and for the most part pretty stress free.

I saw them advertising in my area on Indeed and was first just curious what they paid these days and without having a contractor getting their cut. It seems like it could be worth it so I'm gonna give it a shot.

Things have changed a little it seems. I'm curious what the real difference is between what they train you to do and what they'll accept from you. I know it can make a pretty significant difference in time commitment cutting some corners. I was trained by an inspector who knew how to get away with the bare minimum. We would basically do drive-bys, snap a bunch of pictures and assign them as see fit for FI/FINCs alike. I just did a "test" order and for an FI they want a picture of the volt stick on the outside electric meter? They want you walking around a property even if you didn't get an answer at the door? I'm in the south, people shoot for a lot less than that. lol

Anyway, just curious if there are any Safeguard vets here who can point out some of the shortcuts. Thanks.

We worked for these guys a few years ago, and i was curious what they pay now; i would never go back to work for them, but am curious if they went up on their prices. Thanks so much.

I’ve had fewer issues keeping my reports straight since I started using itp templates construction for organizing job details and photos. Makes it way easier to double-check if I’ve hit all the needed points before submitting. Especially on those rush days, I don’t lose track of what got done or missed.
